Saturday's San Diego Handicap out at Del Mar will feature Arrogate against a small field. The purse is $300,000, Arrogate is heavily favored.

Arrogate Begins Del Mar Journey in San Diego Handicap ~ Bloodhorse ~ Baffert said July 19 that "everything (has been) great so far" for the son of Unbridled's Song since he moved from Santa Anita Park to Del Mar July 16. After his final timed work in preparation for the San Diego, Baffert said Arrogate was "up to (his) standards." "(The San Diego) is a mile and a sixteenth, which is not really his distance, but he's ready for a race," Baffert said of the last-out Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) winner. "He still has to break and there's still racing luck involved. As long as he's healthy and doing well, I just take him there and he always shows us something different." More at the Link.
From Horse racing nation ~ Arrogate is the Master of his Domain in San Diego ~ In fact, this will be only the second career start at the seaside oval for Arrogate. Last time he was here, though, he was not the same champion that we all know today. The occasion was an August 4 allowance race, and that facile victory quickly led to everything we have seen over the past 11 months.  Electrifying victories in the Travers, Breeders' Cup Classic, Pegasus World Cup, and most recently the Dubai World Cup, have propelled the four-year-old son of Unbridled's Song to international super stardom. In that last race at Meydan on March 25, Arrogate proved that he can overcome trouble against world class horses, after getting squeezed back badly at the start. More at the link
